Dr. Rahul V. Ralegaonkar is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology. He earned his B.E. in Civil Engineering (1998), M.E. (2000), and Ph.D. in Energy Efficient Buildings (2005). His research focuses on sustainable construction materials, energy-efficient buildings, construction management, and disaster-resilient infrastructure. Dr. Ralegaonkar has over two decades of experience in teaching, research, consultancy, and sponsored R&D projects. He has led several national and international research projects funded by organizations such as the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Ministry of Mines, DST, British Council, and CMPDI. His work has resulted in multiple patents, books, and more than 175 research publications in the field of sustainable construction engineering. He has received several prestigious honors, including the Indo-US DST-BHAVAN Fellowship, appointment as a Visiting Professor at Liverpool John Moores University, state-level Energy Conservation Awards, and international innovation awards for sustainable construction technologies.
