The Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE) is delighted to announce the appointment of Emily Poznanski, Chief Executive Officer of Sciendo and De Gruyter Brill Sp. z o.o. (Poland), to its Board of Directors, effective September 2025.
With more than 15 years of leadership experience in academic publishing, Emily brings a wealth of expertise in transformation, strategic growth, and innovation in scholarly communication. In her current role, she is spearheading the development of Paradigm Publishing Services, a forward-looking service arm that brings together Sciendo, Ubiquity, and the University Press Library to deliver integrated publishing solutions and expand the global reach of academic content.
Prior to joining Sciendo and De Gruyter Brill, Emily served as Director of Central European University (CEU) Press in Budapest and Vienna, where she played a pivotal role in driving digital transformation and strengthening the press's position as a leading academic publisher in Central and Eastern Europe. Her work throughout her career has focused on building sustainable publishing models and enabling research to reach wider audiences.
Emily's appointment comes at a crucial time for ACSE as it continues to advance its mission of elevating scholarly publishing across Asia. Her deep understanding of the evolving publishing ecosystem and commitment to innovation will support ACSE's efforts to empower editors, publishers, and researchers, promote ethical standards, and enhance the visibility of Asian scholarship on the global stage.
"We are honored to welcome Emily Poznanski to the ACSE Board," said the Council's leadership. "Her strategic vision, leadership experience, and dedication to transformation will strengthen our work as we build a more connected, ethical, and impactful future for scholarly communication."
Emily's tenure as a Director on the ACSE Board began in September 2025, and her involvement underscores ACSE's continued commitment to engaging leading voices from across the global publishing community to shape the future of science communication.
